Description

First rain, brise soleil is an ongoing project that extends the artist’s observation and exploration of the palimpsestic nature of history, traditionality, and the performative space of social customs. Phan Thảo Nguyên’s artistic practice bears the mélange of literary, philosophical, and quotidian inspirations.
Her works in this project stem from the image of a brise soleil, usually seen in modern architectural sites, designed to shield the house from direct exposure to the scorching sun, while also generating a convection corridor to ensure ventilation.
