Description

The Hong Kong dollars are related to Tan’s trip to Hong Kong in 1997, just a few months before the handover. They feature as the main personage Charlie Chaplin, another historical figure by whose talent Vũ Dân Tân was impressed. The choice seems to be random: the only link of the great comic to Hong Kong must be his last film “Countess from Hong Kong”. Nevertheless the artist doesn’t bother about the lack of historical coincidence.
