Description
In 2008, the artist’s family visited the Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia. Around this time, the first philosophy books became available in Vietnamese bookstores. Cầm read all the books he could lay his hands on and brough one of Edmund Husserl’s ideas about phenomenology with him to Angkor Wat. When photographing the images for this work, the architectural details and bricks of the temple merged with Husserl’s ideas in Cầm’s mind. In this photomontage, Cầm also reflects on his childhood memories about propaganda TV.
