Lê Huy Hoàng, full name is Bopha Xorigia Lê Huy Hoàng, was born in Hanoi with half Vietnamese half Khmer bloodlines. He served in the Vietnamese Army during the Cambodian war. Lê Huy Hoàng graduated from Hanoi University of Fine Arts (2004).

Lê Huy Hoàng's work reflects traumatized memories of war, painful circumstances, life experiences and stories revolving around his own life. His large-scale installations use ephemeral materials to deal with regional historical issues and identity conflicts.

Lê Huy Hoàng died in 2014, from cancer.
