Tuấn Mami, real name Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, was born in Hanoi, graduated from Vietnam University of Fine Arts (2006). He is an interdisciplinary artist working with installation, video, performance, and conceptual art.
Tuan Mami's works are often research-based, long-term projects that invoke the concept of re-construction and are site- and community- specific, with the aim of addressing issues of life, the genealogy of social situations and consequences in various dimensions. From there, the artist sets out to critically experiment, question, or construct situations that allow community participation to create social consensus and interaction.
Besides the role as a creative practitioner, he also founded MAC-Hanoi, a Mobile Art Center (2012), and co-founded Nhà Sàn Collective (2013) and Á Space (2018) in Hanoi. In 2013, he had the honor to be a guest lecturer at the San Francisco Art Institute, USA.
