Statement

Before leaving Utrecht (the Netherlands) for Venice (Italy), the artist managed to get a pack of ants with him and later added to his jar more ants that he found around there. The artist then worked on a journal to document each day the different activities that took place inside this tiny society of ants — which was then released and not displayed on exhibition site. This project that was based on observations and details raised many questions related to social media issues, scientific and artistic research as well as migration and refugee status.
