Description
In Llouquet’s uncanny dreamscape, diverse elements from philosophical and religious doctrines intricately merge. There are subtle nods to contemporary interpretations of Vietnamese weddings, which synthesise elements from Christian marriage, Confucian ideology, and Hollywood romantic comedies. While the pyramid of champagne coupes and the title allude to childhood fantasies of “holy matrimony,” the foreboding ink shroud enveloping Llouquet’s altar suggests the presence of otherworldly forces at play.
