Phan Anh

Phan Anh is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Ho Chi Minh City. He graduated from the Ho Chi Minh Fine Arts University, majored in Oil Painting (2013) and received his MFA from Utrecht School of the Arts, majored in Fine Arts (Neatheland, 2015).

For most of his works, he aims towards the task of using one’s body as a tool to get involved with everyday subjects and happenings, in order to confront the state of Being in correlation with personal and collective identity; at the same time to look into the vague questions of What am I? Where am I? How did I get here? and Where do I go from here?

To him, making art has always been an honest attempt to make sense of himself as an object which plays an unpredictable part in phenomena.

He used to work as a curatorial assistant of Zero Station and a tutor of Saigon University, Faculty of Fine Arts. He is currently working as a full-time artist and co-curator of the Đường Chạy experimental project.
