Watercolor on paper.
Description
Watering cans left hanging in the garden after use; lush green beds of sprouting plants; an old, flaking slab of the citadel’s brick wall; reeds on the uncultivated fields swaying in the wind. These gentle, unhurried portrayals of life around the citadel show up cross Nguyễn Văn Tôn’s paintings, where human figures do not make an appearance and the citadel wall continues to stand its ground against the test of time.
